Four places to start with children

For a smaller burger meal, start with Big Wheel. Prima Strada has plain pasta as well as pizza. Belleville's publishes a full children's menu, while Charlotte & the Quail pairs breakfast or lunch with a garden visit. We checked the restaurant pages below on September 5, 2026. High chairs, changing tables and room for an unfolded stroller still need a call to the restaurant.

Big Wheel Burger

341 Cook St., Cook Street Village

A smaller burger meal with the sides already included.

Children's food
The Little Wheel Meal Deal includes a 3oz burger, cheeseburger or hot dog, plus children's fries, juice and a cookie. A chicken-tender meal comes with fries and juice.
When to go
Cook Street Village lists 11am to 9pm daily.
Other locations
The same official location page lists Westside Village, Gateway Village and Langford, useful if Cook Street is out of your way.

Pizzeria Prima Strada

230 Cook St., Cook Street Village

Plain pasta is an option when everyone else wants pizza.

Children's food
The Cook Street menu has a Bambino pizza with tomato and cheese, pasta with olive oil and parmesan, and pasta with tomato sauce and parmesan.
Smaller orders
Meatballs can be ordered individually or as a half order. Gelato and sorbet are sold by the scoop.
When to go
Cook Street lists noon to 9pm daily. Pickup and delivery links are on the restaurant website.

The website carries both Cook Street and Bottega menus. Choose Cook Street before checking a dish or ordering.

Belleville's Watering Hole & Diner

427 Belleville St., Inner Harbour

A published menu for children 12 and under, with breakfast and lunch choices.

Breakfast
Children's breakfast runs until 2pm. Options include mini pancakes with an egg, a cheese omelette, and French toast.
Lunch and dinner
Available from 10am. Choices include a small cheeseburger, spaghetti, grilled cheese and fish sticks. The listed side options include cucumber slices with ranch, fries or coleslaw.
Seating hours
The diner lists 8am to 9pm daily. The lounge and kitchen have later schedules, so use the diner hours when planning an evening with children.

Charlotte & the Quail

505 Quayle Rd., Saanich

Breakfast or lunch beside the Horticulture Centre of the Pacific gardens.

Garden visit
There is no admission charge to eat at the cafe. Its website says children under 16 enter the neighbouring gardens free; a same-day dining receipt gives adults a discounted garden admission.
Getting there
The cafe shares a parking lot with the gardens and has bike racks. Indoor seating and two patios are listed on its website.
Autumn hours
From September 7, the cafe lists 10am to 3pm on weekdays and 9am to 3pm on weekends. Its website says indoor reservations return in September.

The food menu changes with farm produce. Check the current menu before promising a particular dish to a child.

Best Family & Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Victoria, BC

The shortlist above uses details published by the restaurants, including children's dishes, meal times and garden admission. The broader list below includes family meal ideas from our restaurant map. A Family tag alone does not confirm high chairs, a changing table or space for a stroller; call ahead if one of those will decide where you eat.

  • Choose by the child's actual meal: Big Wheel's smaller burger, Prima Strada's plain pasta or Belleville's children's breakfast and lunch menu
  • Check the room and meal-service hours: a lounge can stay open after a diner closes
  • For a longer outing, Charlotte & the Quail publishes garden admission details for children and adults
